Have You Tried This Cool Amazon Tool To Learn Spanish

Did you know that you can use Amazon for free to help you learn Spanish?

Today, we will show you exactly how.

This is a unique way that I discovered that you can use Amazon to get a lot of comprehensible input.

This method is great to make learning Spanish exciting and help you stay consistent with it so you can improve your Spanish comprehension and speaking ability.

Step 1 - Create an Amazon S3 Account

The first thing you need is an AWS account, and this is as easy as going to aws.amazon.com.

Create a free AWS account which is a cloud service similar to iCloud or any type of cloud software.

Step 2 - Select Amazon Polly

Once inside, scroll down to machine learning and select “Amazon Polly.”

Amazon Polly is a Text-to-Speech machine that allows you to copy and paste any text in your desired language and have it read back to you.

Step 3 - Find a Piece Of Content

So the next thing that you’ll need to do is find a piece of content that you would like to read to you.

You could use ANY content you like, including but not limited to an article, a book, a blog post or a social media post.

This makes it easy to engage with content you are actually interested in consuming.

So once you have your content, simply copy and paste the text into Amazon Polly.

Step 4 - Choose The Type Of Spanish

Next, scroll down and select the type of Spanish you will like to listen to.

You will get 3 options Castilian, Mexican, or US Spanish (This seems to be neutral Latin American Spanish).

The choice is totally up to you.

I would say listen to them all and see which one you like best.

Step 5 - Choose The Type Of Voice

Depending on the option you choose, you will be given different voices you can listen to.

Again, I recommend listening to each one and seeing the one you prefer.

Conclusion

That’s all there is to it.

Now Amazon Polly will read the content back to you in very clear Spanish.

As you can see, this is great to implement into your Spanish practice every day.

I recommend printing the piece of content you use and having it with you while you listen.

That way, you can underline words you aren’t familiar with and make other notes while reading.

You can also copy and paste the content into a translator to get a general understanding of the content.

Long story short, there are many things you can do with the content you’re consuming, but Amazon Polly allows you did receive listening input but ANY written piece of content that you’re interested in.

Enjoy!
