The secret to "Authentic" Spanish

A few months back I sent out a quick little survey…
Asking every one of our Speak Spanish Faster customers, what was the biggest problem they had in their Spanish.
I received a few different answers…
But over 86% of the people had the same one…
PRONUNCIATION.
Or more specifically, improving their pronunciation so they could have a better Spanish accent.
In other words, they wanted to sound more authentic when they spoke.
This is very important for people that are serious about speaking Spanish.
And if that’s you then you will love today’s big news.
Because it’s all about helping you with your pronunciation and Spanish accent.

But first, let me share with you a quick realization I’ve had after years of helping people learn Spanish faster.
I’ve discovered that most people don’t want to learn Spanish just so they can communicate with others (a common misconception amongst many Spanish teachers)…
They actually want to be able to actually speak Spanish fluently…
And sound AUTHENTIC when they speak.
Doing this is something that has taken me years to master…
And I struggled mightily with sounding “authentic.”
But then I came across a unique way to dial in my training on just my accent…
And it made a heck of a difference.
Nowadays I get comments like this all the time on my YouTube channel:

It feels good because my aunts and uncles in Puerto Rico say my Spanish is better than most of the people living on the island.
Which is pretty crazy to believe…
Because it wasn’t too long ago when my cousins were making fun of me…
Saying my Spanish sucked…
And that I spoke like a gringo.
It’s crazy what a little hard work can do.
But here’s the thing…
Most people don’t believe they can fix their Spanish accent…
They think they already messed up their Spanish from the years of studying the wrong way in school.
But think about this…
Have you ever watched a movie that featured an English or Australian actor that played an American role and spoke American English perfectly?
I’m sure it has happened more times than you even realize.
Heck, just watch the new Spiderman movies with Tom Holland (they are great by the way)…
Then listen to him speak in interviews.
It’s pretty crazy.
You would never have imagined that he had a strong English accent.
Long story short…
Acquiring a specific accent in any language is something that can be trained.
Of course, actors pay thousands of dollars for that type of accent training…
But nonetheless, there are ways to do it.
Which is why I’m writing to you today.
As I mentioned…
Even though I’ve been speaking Spanish for years…
The past 3 years are where I’ve seen the BIGGEST improvement in my accent.
And I would love to take all the credit for that change…
But I simply can’t.
That’s because a lot of the credit has to go to one of my good friends…
He’s a world-renowned Polyglot that speaks 13 languages.
Many consider him the best language coach in the world…
Not for the amount of languages that he speaks…
But for how WELL he speaks them…
And for how authentic he sounds when he speaks them.
You’ve probably heard of him before…
I’ll reveal his name later.
But please know that he is the one that introduced me to the idea that your Spanish accent is more than just about pronunciation…
In fact, he changed the way I view learning a language.
And for the past 5 months we’ve been talking everyday on WhatsApp and Zoom…
Spinning ideas back and forth about how we could introduce more students to some of the groundbreaking techniques we’ve been discovering together.
