Conoce a Alexis y Rachel. Ellos son mejores amigos. Se conocieron hace cuatro años en el trabajo. Ambos trabajan para el gobierno de los Estados Unidos. Trabajan en la misma oficina. Sus escritorios están directamente uno frente al otro.
Meet Alexis and Rachel. They are best friends. They met four years ago at work. They both work for the United States government. They work in the same office. Their desks are directly across from each other.
Se hicieron amigos cuando Alexis le preguntó a Rachel si quería ir con ella a la cafetería de la calle. Al principio Rachel estaba ocupada, así que dijo que no podía ir con Alexis. Al principio Alexis pensó que tal vez Rachel no quería ser su amiga.
They became friends when Alexis asked Rachel if she wanted to go with her to the coffee shop down the street. At first Rachel was busy so she said she could not go with Alexis.
In the beginning Alexis thought maybe Rachel did not want to be her friend.

But the next day Rachel asked Alexis if she wanted to go to lunch with her. Alexis said yes and they have been best friends ever since.
In fact, they recently went on vacation together!

It was hard for them to get time off of work for the same week since they work in a small office. But luckily their boss agreed to their vacation request.

They decided to go to Las Vegas! Neither of them had ever been to Las Vegas before. Neither of them like gambling but they decided to try playing the slot machines. They both spent twenty dollars.
¡Alexis ganó cincuenta dólares! Pero Rachel no ganó nada. De hecho, ella perdió sus veinte dólares. Sin embargo, ¡Ambos estaban felices! Alexis compró a ambos unos bocadillos y bebidas con el dinero que ganó.
Alexis won fifty dollars! But Rachel did not win anything. In fact she lost her twenty dollars. They were both still happy though! Alexis bought them both a few snacks and drinks with the money she won.

During their trip, they also spent a lot of time at the pool and they attended a concert. They even went zip lining! It was very scary but so much fun. They had a great time. They did not want to go home or go back to work!

Neither of us like gambling but we decided to try playing the slot machines. We both spent twenty dollars. I won fifty dollars! But Rachel did not win anything.
In fact she lost her twenty dollars.

We were both still happy though! I bought us both a few snacks and drinks with the money I won. During our trip, we also spent a lot of time at the pool and we attended a concert.
¡Incluso fuimos a la tirolesa! Fue muy aterrador pero muy divertido. Nos lo pasamos muy bien. ¡No queríamos irnos a casa o volver al trabajo!
We even went zip lining! It was very scary but so much fun. We had a great time. We did not want to go home or go back to work!
